Pinarello Maglia Nera women T-shirt. Pinarello was born out of one man's passion for racing. As a racer, Giovanni Pinarello was best known for winning the Maglia Nera* at the Giro d'Italia, but as a clothier, his name became synonymous with cycling's greatest champions winning the Maglia Rosa and Maglia Gialla. Between 1946 and 1951, the Maglia Nera was a black jersey given to the last rider to finish the Giro d'Italia. Giovanni Pinarello was the last rider to win it. Although it is no longer officially awarded, cycling fans continue to use it as a synonym for rider in last place, similar to the lanterne rouge at the Tour de France.
